Moving onto a new project...

Well, this project is going to have to stop here. For those who do download the game to take a look at the world I made, I really thank you for even taking a look.

When I started making this game way back in October 2019 for the Gentle Ghost Jam, I had this elaborate idea in my head of what I wanted this game to be. I wanted the player to be able to explore a small town as a ghost and find out why they were trapped as a spirit. I wanted the player to be able to help other other ghosts in the town, learning more about their stories as they explored. I also wanted the player to have to switch between living characters (by possessing them) in order to interact with objects in the world. Ghosts can't pick things up was the idea.

What I Learned

The game isn't a failure to me. From this experience I learned about creating 2D assets and worlds. I learned about how to use Unity in order to create a game. I believe that my skills and ideas improved even over a month.

The most important thing that I learned? Planning your projects and working on the mechanics TRULY is very important to do in the beginning. I became so immersed in making the world that I wasn't able to finish in time. If I had built the playing mechanics first at least I could have produced a playable game.

Thank you so much for stopping by and if you at least enjoy the artwork I would be grateful if you leave a comment.

Best wishes to all.
